During a postpartum visit, I will:
Within my scope of practice, I'd like to incorporate self-massage and qigong techniques to help improve lactation outcomes.
Common issues are initiation of breastfeeding, night feedings, baby not latching, engorgement, tongue-tie/ lip-tie, nursing strike/ breast refusal, bottle feeding, low milk supply, pumping/expression & storage, nutrition, tandem nursing, re-lactation & induced lactation, nipple pain, breast pains and infections, slow weight gain, jaundice, starting solids, weaning, health conditions of infants and lactating parents, prematurity, breastfeeding multiples.
During a Prenatal session, we will discuss how to best prepare for breastfeeding before your baby arrives, what to expect during pregnancy, how milk production works, how breast and nipple size/ shape and birth practices can impact breastfeeding, and how to navigate the early days and beyond!
